Yoga is a powerful tool to improve the functioning of your body. Pranayama, a practice of intentional breathing can retrain your breath. With training the breath, the diaphragm begins to function correctly and other muscles can be released to function properly as well. Because of the way the diaphragm connects into the pelvis and back ribs it has an effect not only on the back and pelvis, but also on the shoulders. Below is a link to an interesting article about breathing and shoulder problems.
